About Bill

bill

Working as a photographer for more than 40 years, Bill has been behind the camera capturing news events, portraits, sports, landscapes, fine arts projects, and architecture. It is architectural photography that brings out Bill’s passion for problem solving on the fly. Not only does each structure call for an exacting eye to delineate the essence of the building, the technical challenges are constant. The photographer has to place his impression on the images as well as capture the architect’s intent. Those challenges keep Bill carrying the cameras he travels extensively. His love of teaching however grounded him in the classroom at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Since 1974 Bill has been teaching students at all levels within the School of Photographic Arts & Sciences. While graduate students bring inquisitive thought processes, the freshmen still allow the educator to see the light bulbs glow as they experience the magic of the photographic image.

Bill graduated from Ohio University with a BFA in photography. After a tour in the military he returned to his job in the News & Photography Services at Bowling Green State University. A few years later he completed a BGSU masters degree in Career & Technology Education. He then moved to Rochester, NY to initiate his teaching career at RIT.

Now retired, Bill and his wife Dawn continue to explore the world. His photography is still foremost when he lands in a new part of the globe. The images presented on this page are available for you to decorate areas of your offices or home. Please contact Bill with your interests.
